Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Manager, Programs 2 to lead the AMDPCS Tactical Support (ATS) Program within the Tactical Ground Equipment Business Area in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, the ATS Program Manager is responsible for all programmatic elements including cost, schedule, and performance while shaping forward‑looking strategic vision and driving organic growth.  In addition, the ATS PM drives collaboration across Engineering, Field Support, Training, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Business Management, and regularly engages with both senior leadership as well as government officials and customer stakeholders. The ATS PM is accountable for executing the program, ensuring that performance targets are met and delivery commitments align with contractual requirements and business objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own overall program execution performance for assigned scope
  • Lead cost, schedule, and technical performance alignment
  • Ensure program commitments are executable and aligned to baseline
  • Manage program risks / opportunities and drive mitigation plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on program objectives
  • Deliver clear and concise status communication to leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead program reviews and provide program representation in governance forums
  • Ensure alignment between program requirements and product execution activities
  • Drive issue resolution across functional boundaries
  • Monitor program health indicators and implement corrective actions as required
  • Partner with Engineering and Functional Teams to ensure technical alignment supports program objectives
  • Maintain compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related professional experience; Master’s degree and 6 years of related professional experience
  • Program leadership or project execution experience in a complex defense or aerospace environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing cost, schedule, and performance
  • Demonstrated customer interface and team organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated executive communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Comprehension of organizational financial management and reporting (Annual Operating
  • Plan / Long Range Strategic Plan)
  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management experience on a high-visibility production program
  • Experience with tactical shelters, ground platforms, or similar defense systems
  • CAM experience and proficiency on an Earned Value Management program
  • Proposal development experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or similar

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
