Start your future with a new mission, Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector is hiring a Mission Assurance Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Sykesville facility's Power and Control Systems Operating Unit. The Mission Assurance Manager 2 has responsibility for quality requirements across the program portfolio by providing leadership and management to assigned personnel. This leadership opportunity will be located in Sykesville, MD.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Functional manager of site program and factory quality engineering professionals across the site's program portfolio.

  • Responsible for the project performance planning, risk management, technical quality, cost, schedule and factory accountability. 

  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. 

  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. 

  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. 

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. 

  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. 

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is aligned with requirements. 

  • Act with agility to business needs and interact in collaborative way to empower diverse, cross functional teams, including both internal and external members to achieve positive business results, including operating decisions, scheduling requirements and contractual clarification. 

  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. 

  • May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in the Quality, Mission Assurance, Aircraft, Aerospace or Manufacturing Industries OR a Masters Degree and 6 years of experience in Quality, Mission Assurance, Aircraft, Aerospace or Manufacturing Industries

  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance 

  • US Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of prior management/leadership experience.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Experience with quality policies, procedures, governmental regulations and work flow

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,800.00 - $209,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
