Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Facility Engineer Manager 1 to join our team and support our Bacchus, Utah facility.

Job description:

This hybrid management position will lead a team of Facilities Engineers at the Bacchus facility and provide engineering support for projects.  The qualified candidate must be able to lead a team of engineers to effectively meet plant requirements for safety and quality as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule.  The manager will actively perform frontline tasks alongside their team, while also handling team development, scheduling, and performance tracking.  Technical, project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Basic Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 6 years engineering experience in design, process, quality, etc. 
  • Ability to manage a team of engineers, while also providing engineering support on projects
  • Minimum of 1 year of lead, manager, or supervisory experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Proven project management background for large fabrication/construction-related efforts
  • Leadership of cross functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are a must
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders to determine scope, schedule, requirements, etc. for projects
  • Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes
  • Ability to monitor and align team members to schedule tasks to meet the schedule priorities of the company
  • Knowledge of configuration management
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD systems
  • Must have good communication and technical presentation skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter

Preferred Requirements:

  • Computer skills using MS software – Microsoft Project knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of EPLM, Maximo, Costpoint and Cognos
  • Knowledge of and experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing and processing  
  • Knowledge of hazardous location requirements and standards
  • Experience in creating and reviewing initial project estimates
  • Developing standards and/or best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics (i.e. electrical schematics, PIDs, machine or tool drawings, building layouts, etc.)
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Strong Facilities Engineering background
  • In depth knowledge and experience with both high hazard and inert processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,000.00 - $156,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
