Overview

V2X is seeking a technically proficient and safety-driven Lead Maintainer Operator to supervise and execute vehicle maintenance operations under the Equipment Maintenance Test Support (EMTS) contract. Supporting the U.S. Marine Corps’ Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) and Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) platforms, this role leads a team of maintainers in performing diagnostics, repairs, and vehicle operations to ensure mission readiness. The Lead Maintainer Operator plays a hands-on role in maintenance execution, test event prep, and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) implementation.


Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Supervision
    • Supervise and assign daily work to a team of Maintainer Operators.
    • Ensure maintenance schedules, inspections, and repair activities are completed according to Marine Corps standards.
    • Lead safety briefings, track work orders, and enforce adherence to SOPs and maintenance best practices.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Operations
    • Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on ACV/AAV platforms, including hydraulics, drivetrains, suspension, and electrical systems.
    • Conduct operational checks before, during, and after vehicle operation, documenting faults and ensuring safe use.
    • Support installation and validation of ECPs, kit modifications, and field retrofits.
  • Field Support & Readiness
    • Operate ACV/AAV vehicles during field testing, demonstrations, and mission exercises.
    • Coordinate shop readiness for surge operations, vehicle shipment/receiving, and parts availability.
    • Support offsite test events as needed, including setup, maintenance support, and real-time troubleshooting.
  • Technical Oversight & Documentation
    • Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics for complex troubleshooting.
    • Maintain detailed maintenance records, service logs, and parts usage reports in compliance with CDRL requirements.
    • Provide technical feedback to engineers and site leadership to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Education / Certifications
    • Associate degree or military/vocational training in automotive or tracked vehicle maintenance preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a Government Tactical Vehicle Operator License within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of AAV RAM/RS or ACV maintenance experience.
    • Verifiable leadership or team lead experience in a maintenance or military setting.
    • Strong knowledge of Marine Corps maintenance procedures and technical troubleshooting.
  • Preferred
    • Prior U.S. Marine Corps Maintainer or Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Experience operating AAV/ACV platforms in field conditions.
    • Familiarity with GCSS-MC, CTIS, RWS, VMS, TCM, and related vehicle subsystems.
