Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. The Maintenance Task Analyst supports Ground Weapon Systems (GWS) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs by conducting comprehensive Maintenance Task Analyses (MTA) to ensure optimal performance, sustainability, and supportability of complex weapons and defense systems. The analyst is responsible for identifying all resources, procedures, and constraints necessary to perform maintenance actions, including:
Breakdown of maintenance tasks into detailed, logical steps.
Identification of required spares, consumables, tools, test equipment, personnel skill levels, and facilities.
Estimation of task durations and development of corrective and preventive maintenance plans.
The role requires collaboration with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to align maintenance solutions with operational requirements and applicable standards (e.g., GEIA-STD-0007, or MIL-STD-3007). The analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring readiness, reliability, and operational availability of mission-critical systems including radars, interceptors, launch systems, electrical systems, and supporting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, deliver, and maintain Maintenance Task Analyses for corrective and preventive maintenance activities across GWS and MDA assets.
Analyze technical data (e.g., engineering drawings, schematics, and system specifications) to identify logistical and maintenance requirements.
Document and optimize repair tasks to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with program requirements.
Identify and mitigate risks related to maintenance execution, resource constraints, or system design.
Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend design changes that improve maintainability and reduce lifecycle costs.
Support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) deliverables (e.g., maintenance manuals, spares provisioning, and support equipment lists).
Integrate predictive and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices into system sustainment strategies to improve readiness.
Contribute to Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) analyses related to maintenance planning.
Generate Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
Develop, communicate, and validate maintenance procedures for handling and installing electrical systems, with specific emphasis on proper electrical grounding, bonding requirements, and robust safety protocols.
Provide analysis to ensure electrical systems meet program sustainment objectives, including compliance with DoD and industry standards for power systems and grounding infrastructure.
Work closely with electrical and systems engineering teams to review schematics and identify electrical maintenance needs, focusing on safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with applicable codes (e.g., NFPA 70E, IEEE grounding standards).
Interface with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure alignment with performance and mission objectives, especially in high-stakes environments typical of GWS and MDA programs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance task analysis, performance-based logistics, or system sustainment for defense-related programs, or Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience; or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
An active DOD Secret Clearance is required at the time of application.
Familiarity with GWS or MDA-related systems, integration points, and sustainment challenges, such as radars, launch systems, mission equipment, communication nodes, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in conducting MTAs using tools like PowerLOG-J, SLICwave, or proprietary DoD systems.
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications, including those for power and electrical systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with commercial computer systems and racks.
Experience developing procedures for electrical system installation and maintenance, including troubleshooting, grounding, bonding, and adherence to relevant codes and standards.
Experience working within defense-oriented standards such as:
GEIA-STD-0007 (Logistics Product Data & Logistics Support Analysis Record/LSAR).
MIL-STD-3007 (Facility Design Standards).
NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
Knowledge of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM), and sustainment principles for mission-critical systems.
Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GWS or missile defense systems: Prior work on radar systems (e.g., AN/TPY-2, Sentinel), interceptors (e.g., THAAD, SM-series), launch/support infrastructure, or electrical distribution systems.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, logistics, maintenance management, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs and sustainment priorities, including BMDS (Ballistic Missile Defense System) operations.
Exposure to missile system testing environments or operations, including range maintenance tasks.
Certification in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) or related maintenance methodologies.
