Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Machinist – Level 4 to join our team in Hanover, MD. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

  

We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, thermal and electrical systems for Space applications. The Machinist 4 will be responsible for setting up and both manual and CNC Machinery. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Machinist who desires exciting and challenging work to join our team!

In this job, you will:

  • Able to set up and operate a variety of machine tools including but not limited to milling machines, lathes, and able to align and fasten work using tooling fixtures.

  • Able to use & understand tool sharpeners, tool tolerances, dimensions, calibrated measurements, setup sheets, callouts, probes, feeds & speeds, and standard specs.

  • Able to use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).  

  • Perform computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.

  • Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.

  • Performs all manufacturing operations safely, with quality in mind, and with customer delivery expectations met.

  • Able to learn and perform other job functions with OJT when required.

  • This would include but is not limited to performing program verifications, recipe verifications, rework, data collection & recording, and part processing & handling work among other duties.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.   

  • Experience running machines and setup

  • Experience on 3 Axis CNC machines

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 4 years of experience with 5 Axis CNC vertical machining centers.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Associates degree or Trade School certification

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,300.00 - $115,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
