The Logistics Program Management (LPM) team located in Rolling Meadows, IL (near Chicago) is seeking a self-starting, team-oriented leader to project manage Product Support on a program for the Infrared Countermeasure (IRCM) product line.  This Integrated Product Team (IPT) position provides exposure opportunities with leaders in the program office as well as across functional departments within the company in support of program execution.  In this role, close customer and end-user interface will be required to successfully develop, integrate, and support fielded systems.  Product line knowledge, Cost Account Management (CAM), and technical IPT skills will mature in this dynamic environment.  


The Rolling Meadows Product Support department functional areas include Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS), Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Supportability Engineering, Product Safety/Human Factors, Technical Publications & Training (TD&T), Program Hardware Tracking (PHT), Logistics Systems Engineering, and Logistics Program Management (LPM).  The LPM is the Logistics Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader for the above-mentioned Functional areas and has overall responsibility to a program for all Product Support content (schedule, budget, quality) throughout the period of performance.

This Logistics (Product Support) Program Manager Level 5 is locally-hybrid, requiring on-site work roughly ~3 days per week at the Rolling Meadows, IL Northrop Grumman facility, with the remainder of the week able to work remotely.  Occasional travel for business meetings will be required throughout the year.

Job Duties:

  • Primary Product Support interface with Program Office, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Contracts, and Mission Assurance on all aspects of the program to ensure all program goals are met

  • Lead the Product Support portion of pre-proposal and proposal activity, including the review of specifications, scope of work, and financial requirements of the contract

  • Responsible for development, production, and/or sustainment planning & execution

  • Program manage Product Support content, meet Earned Value (cost & schedule), and quality requirements.  Manage Product Support program deliverables to ensure on-time compliance. 

  • Proactively manage risks and opportunities such as allocation of resources, modification of schedule, or revision of contractual specifications and work with the Functions, Program Office, and Customer on resolution

  • Proactively identify and respond to customer needs to support Program Growth.  Develop new Product Support business and expand the existing support of the product line with the Customer or Program Office.

  • Provide field customer training, as required by the contract

  • Prepare Product Support content for Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and other reviews

Basic Qualifications for Level 5:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years or Master’s degree with a minimum of 10 year of related Product Support/operations/supply chain experience

  • Demonstrated IPT leadership skills to include conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close on large, complex programs

  • Experience managing contractual deliverables to cost, schedule, and quality

  • Ability to develop problem resolutions to complex technical challenges for engagement in process improvement that directly contributes to program and/or department success.

  • Working knowledge of the Product Support elements, ability to understand technical requirements, their impact on Product Support elements, and provide design recommendations on complex programs

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate with cross-functional teams internally and with Customers externally

  • Experience in delivering presentations supporting customer design and program reviews

  • Demonstrated expertise in their field, often executing assignments without supervision

  • Must be proficient in using MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Defense Product Support

  • Demonstrated experience with all Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements with emphasis on project management of new hardware and software systems

  • Experience with the Product Line and NGC processes

  • Experience leading product development, production, or sustainment programs

  • Knowledge of government contracting requirements and proposal process

  • Earned value experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,700.00 - $209,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
