Summary

Job Description

Purpose: Provides logistical support and research on all Transportation related issues. Administrator for Signal operational reporting groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates, conducts, leads, and participates in briefings, problem solving meetings.
  • Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across site functional groups including finance, material, and quality.
  • Utilizes reports, charts and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
  • Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures promotes a “safety first” mentality.
  • Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.
  • Conducts analysis in areas of packaging and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.
  • Prepares Truck Shipping Documents for Line Haul Inter-theater between sites, container
  • movements from Sea Port of Embarkation to Sea Port of Debarkation, and local movements.
  • Recommends changes designed to improve control and efficiency of transportation operations.
  • Maintains Technical Orders, publications, forms, and files required for Traffic Management operations.
  • Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 6 yrs. planning experience to include briefing senior leadership required.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations to small and large groups.
  • Must have broad knowledge of transportation operations, practices, and policies as well as a thorough knowledge of automated transportation systems to satisfy user requirement.
  • Must be well versed with shipping processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to properly develop appropriate performance standards, track transportation production, and ensure facilities operate in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must have relevant experience to analyze requirements and production capacity to respond to requests for proposals for option years and special missions.
  • Must be familiar and knowledgeable of DoD 4500.9-R
  • Must have a thorough and detailed knowledge of SMS, GATES, Global Transportation Network (GTN), Transportation Coordinator's Automated Information for Movement System II (TC-AIMS II).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous planning experience in Supply, Maintenance, Logistics, Transportation preferred
  • International driver’s license prior to deployment preferred.
  • MOS 88Z preferred

Certification, License & Clearance:

  • Valid US Driver’s license required.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC, if required.

Facility credentials/authorization required :

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility and credential /authorization:

Note- US Citizenship is required for facility credential/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
