Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience. or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a System Administrator / Cybersecurity Professional. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Overview

Supporting engineering development and maintenance of programs. Lead Information Assurance efforts for several programs. System administration and network designmaintenance, primarily Linux and Cisco. Hands on work supporting all aspects of network maintenance. Candidates need to be capable of performing multiple duties, including Linux installation, hardening, scanning, and patching; Cisco installs, configuration, troubleshooting; hands on cabling, rack/stack, etc.

The position is supporting engineering development programs, not corporate IT.

What we would like you to bring to the table (skills, knowledge, and experience)

    Experienced in Linux System Administrator for small/medium size networksUnderstanding of vulnerability and compliance scanning, analysis of the scan results, and security patching specifically for the DoDWorking knowledge of Linux hardeningFamiliarity with cyber security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and other government security specifications and guidelines.Network architecture and the application of network setup (LAN, NICs, Router Configurations)Experienced in Cisco equipment for small/medium size networksHands-on experience setting up networks, including servers, network infrastructure equipment, and network end devicesAbility to work alone or in a team environmentDemonstrates ability to move into new teams and quickly learn project defined specific process while applying past knowledge and experienceProven documentation skills and technical writingCommunicating technical information clearly so that it may be understood by a non-technical individual
Preferred experience and certifications

    Bachelors degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field, plus 5 years of relevant experience Linux system administration, RHCSA a bonusNetwork+/Security+ or equivalent experience, CISSP a bonusCisco experience, CCNP a bonusExperience with general network administration, Server+/Linux+ a bonus


Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $100,219.00 - USD $111,180.00 /Yr.
