Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Liaison/MRB Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be located fulltime in Whidbey, WA.

Key responsibilities:

The Liaison/MRB Engineer will assist with the disposition of withhold supplier tags. Candidate should have experience with designing repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials.

Tasks will include interfacing with multiple suppliers, dispositioning of discrepant material tags, interfacing with stakeholder groups such as Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing and Manufacturing personnel in the design center and build facilities. 

Strong communication and collaboration skills are a must.

Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System, MES, and a Northrop Grumman MRB EN signature is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 2 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in composite airframe structures or a master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 0 years of experience.

  • Hands on experience in a composites manufacturing facility.

  • Experience with military specs and standards.

  • Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and special program access (PAR) prior to the commencement of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science or Masters of Science in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering

  • Current NGAS MRB buyoff authority. "EN".

  • Experience interfacing with a military customer

  • Current, in-scope Secret clearance (or higher)
