Boeing is currently hiring for a Lead Design and Analysis Engineer located in Berkeley, MO to be a part of the MQ-25 Electrical and Equipment Installation team.

The MQ-25 Stingray is a new autonomous, unmanned carrier based refueling air vehicle. The selected candidate will be a part of aviation history by helping our Navy customer productization Autonomous Carrier landing, takeoff and refueling capabilities.

The MQ-25 program is currently building the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) vehicles for the Navy. Additional work is under way for the beginning of the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) program for additional vehicles.

The MQ-25 Electrical & Equipment team is responsible for the power architecture & design, electrical equipment technical management, electrical installation design, wire harness design, and integrating avionics and other equipment into the vehicle.

This role will be focused on the power architecture & design.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

  • Makes recommendations for technology investments.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.   

  • A final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 

  • 14+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years of work-related experience with a masters or 9+ years of work-related experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance

  • ABET accredited degree

  • Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry

  • 14+ years experience in Electrical Power Architecture Design and Analysis

  • 14+ years of systems engineering experience involving: system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification

  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments

  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Highly motivated and works well in a team environment

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Boeing Support Systems relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range:Level 5 (Lead): $164,900 - $223,100
