Lab Test Simulation Integration Engineer I in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and integrating realtime simulation systems (e.g., dSPACE, ADI, NI, Speedgoat) with aircraft hardware/software in HardwareintheLoop (HIL) environments.
- Proficiency in Simulink for model development, simulation, and system integration.
- Experience using Python or other highlevel programming languages to create automated test scripts, testing utilities, and lab support tools.
- Strong ability to interpret and work from aircraft and simulation electrical drawings.
- Handson experience integrating simulation hardware I/Oincluding analog, discrete, data bus, and Ethernet interfaceswith aircraft controllers and thirdparty simulation platforms.
- Working knowledge of standard aircraft industry data and communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664, RS485, and related interfaces.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support a customerfacing lab environment by addressing requests for new functionality, assisting test engineers, and troubleshooting aircraft or lab system issues.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, rapidly evolving, or dynamic development environments.
- High level of comfort and motivation working in a lab setting, with an expectation to spend approximately 80% of time onsite.
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred; candidates with Electrical or Computer Engineering degrees who possess relevant aircraft and simulation experience will also be considered.
- Possession of a pilot license is considered a strong plus.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Entry level. 0 to 18 months experience. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:- Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule .
- Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues .
- Analyzes and evaluates results of project activities .
- Prepares recommendations for changes and compiles necessary reports for various department supervision .
- Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis/test results and works toward corrective action .
- Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
- Continues learning and developing knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise .
- The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade level will be established by each discipline.
- Work is closely supervised/monitored, follows established procedures and methods.
- Failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules.
- Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
- Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor, and other exempt professionals in the group or department.
- Works under general supervision for most tasks.
