Role Overview
As a Propulsion Engineer at our Strother Field site, you will focus on troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and hardware disposition for CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, and PP20 engines. You will resolve complex engine issues, develop optimized work scopes, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve engine performance, reliability, and shop efficiency.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex engine and hardware issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving (RCA, five-why)
  • Analyze inspection findings and test data to determine repair/replace/reuse dispositions for engine hardware
  • Develop incoming engine work scopes that balance technical requirements, customer needs, cost, and schedule
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and drive design or process improvements
  • Provide clear technical guidance and documentation to production teams, internal partners, and customers

Ideal Candidate

You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys digging into data, solving problems at the root cause, and working closely with shop and cross-functional teams to keep engines moving through the factory safely and efficiently

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbomachinery/rotating equipment engineering OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbomachinery/rotating equipment engineering
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in a production, overhaul, or maintenance environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving/quality training
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis tools
  • Experience collaborating in a matrixed, cross-functional environment

  • Schedule: 1st Shift, approximately 40 hours/week
