Position: Systems Engineer IV
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer IV to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. This position will be at the forefront of systems development, integration and testing for the DRAKE system. DRAKE is a portable, electromagnetic warfare jammer designed to protect Navy ships and personnel by detecting and defeating small unmanned aerial systems (UAS). DRAKE often acts in combination with the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (JCREW) system to protect against both drones and electronic threats. You will be working onsite in a fast paced and dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential. SECRET CLEARANCE Requirement: Interim Secret to start. Continued employment contingent upon favorable final Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:
·         Lead development and execution of comprehensive T&E strategies, including Test & Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) and supporting documentation aligned to DoD acquisition frameworks
·         Oversee and integrate end-to-end test activities across Developmental Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), interoperability, and field events
·         Define and validate Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), Measures of Performance (MOPs), and Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) aligned to mission requirements
·         Direct complex data analysis efforts, ensuring statistically valid and defensible assessments of system performance, suitability, and survivability
·         Provide authoritative assessment of system readiness, risks, and limitations, and deliver actionable recommendations to Program Managers and senior stakeholders
·         Serve as primary technical interface with government leadership and stakeholders, including Program Offices (PMAs), NAVSEA, NAVAIR, and Operational Test Agencies
·         Lead test planning and execution at scale, including coordination of resources, instrumentation, ranges, and operational units
·         Ensure end-to-end requirements traceability and verification/validation (V&V) across the system lifecycle
·         Drive compliance with DoD policies, FAR/DFARS contract requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks
·         Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and review authority for T&E engineers and deliverables
 

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

  • 10 -15+ years of relevant experience in Test & Evaluation, systems engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale or complex T&E efforts
  • Deep understanding of: DoD T&E processes and documentation (e.g., TEMP)
     

Requirements:

  •  Verification & validation (V&V)Data analysis and evaluation methodologies
  • Ability to operate independently and advise senior government leadership
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition lifecycle and major programs of record
  • DAWIA certification in Test & Evaluation or Systems Engineering
  • Experience in operational test environments, EEW, RF, or mission systems
  • Must obtain an Interim Secret clearance to begin work
     

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace) 
  • Preferred Master's degree in Engineering
