Join a winning team!! SAIC’s Space and Intelligence Business Group is currently hiring to advance space capabilities supporting our Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community customers. Ten miles from the SAIC headquarters, our Chantilly, VA team supports systems development, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration and more.

This position is for an IT Infrastructure Engineer for a large contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The IT Infrastructure Engineer oversees developer progress in deploying and maintaining a complex ground system architecture, with focus on Enterprise IT, networks and cloud-based systems. This position provides support to the customer’s execution of the Program with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:  

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and engineering of the network and cloud computing infrastructure, and applications.
  • Work with development team to address architecture, integration, and technical issues.
  • Advise on practical implementations and develop findings and work off plans.
  • Translate strategic architectures into implementation level guidance.
  • Support IT-related tasks in areas such as developing requirements, placing/monitoring service requests, monitoring cloud costs, and conducting on-premise vs cloud trades.
  • Develop productive relationships with development contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other spacecraft, payload, and ground subject matter experts.
  • Advise and mentor customer personnel regarding network and cloud architectures.
  • Provide technical and cost assessment of vendor proposals, review technical reports, design artifacts and program plans. 

Qualifications

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or Information Technology 9 years’ w/Bachelors; 7 with Masters.
  • Experience architecting, engineering, developing, and deploying large-scale network solutions.
  • Experience architecting, engineering, developing, and deploying large-scale cloud solutions.
  • Experience working on a Government or Commercial satellite program.  
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cloud Provider certification(s) such as AWS/Azure Solution Architect.
  • CompTIA, Cisco, or other industry network engineering certifications.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic security management and implementations to support ground architectures.
