Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Experienced Group Coordinator Assemblers (Level C) to join the 787 Final Assembly Team working in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift!

This position will provide critical production support to Final Assembly and Field Travel Aircraft, including improving production efficiency, safety and optimizing product quality. The individual will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas: pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. 

Primary Responsibilities:   

  • Creates a culture that enhances productivity, safety and a teaming environment.

  • Works cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure LOTO book, kit and LOTO equipment are used correctly and inventoried.

  • Coordinates with Lead/Manager on execution and critical path of production build.

  • Supervising Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).

  • Review current LOTOs.

  • Coordinating hazardous energy work.

  • Hand-off or end-of-shift activities.

  • Abnormal circumstance responses.

  • Verifies Aircraft power can be safely provided to the airplane.

  • Inventory LOTO Kits Pre and Post shift.

  • Sign into all LOTOs.

  • Remove any LOTOs from the book as required.

  • The GC meets with the work team to evaluate where hazardous energy is to be introduced.

  • Coordinating with Functional Test SMEs and ME’s.

  • If work continues – coordinate hand-off with the next GC.

  • If work shuts down – coordinate preparation for power shut down.

  • Review status of personnel and airplane system configuration.

  • Transfer LOTOs to the incoming GC’s.

  • Sign out of all open Control Log Sheets (X35681).

  • Verifies all mechanics are signed out of active LOTOs.

  • The GC may serve as PAE (Primary Authorized Employee) for all or some of the LOTOs when necessary.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to work a variable shift.

  • Ability to work weekends

  • 3+ years of experience with live aircraft operations/aircraft systems/LOTO

  • 3+ years of experience within aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing

  • 3+ years of experience in advising and influencing others to meet schedules and safety requirements or resolve technical or operational problems

  • 3+ years of experience with Systematic Problem Solving

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with Boeing Production System (BPS) concepts

  • 1+ years of experience in a team environment

  • Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4).  Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation is needed.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $61,200 - $64,500
