FULFILLMENT BUYER

We are a progressive procurement organization pushing the boundaries of traditional procurement reputation and methodologies. SpaceX has the unique ability and desire to influence and shape suppliers to be better with us as we challenge our supply chain on cost, quality and delivery. This Fulfillment Buyer will support Starbase purchases across multiple commodities, stakeholders (capital projects, facility management, production, etc.) and supply chain team clusters.

We are looking for the right person who is equipped and ready for these challenges to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review purchase request and issue purchase orders in a timely manner without error
  • Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers
  • Review quotes to ensure those are complete and align with SpaceX terms
  • Obtain the original promise date from suppliers
  • Review open order reports and manage deliveries
  • Resolve invoice issues and ensure that vendors are paid on time
  • Expedite parts as necessary
  • Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers
  • Support buyers in cost savings initiatives
  • Lead miscellaneous procurement projects
  • Lead supplier onboarding process

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree; or 4+ years of professional experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function in lieu of a degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Purchasing experience, specifically related to capital equipment or indirect buying
  • Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed
  • This position is based in Brownsville, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
