What You Will Be Doing

As the Fuel System Engineer you will be responsible for delivering fluid and mechanical engineering solutions within advanced development programs, focusing on aircraft fuel system design, analysis, and aerial refueling.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead system‑level fuel design and analysis to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.


• Collaborate with cross‑functional IPT members to translate customer requirements into integrated system solutions.


• Develop and validate aero‑refueling concepts and support test planning and execution.


• Manage technical trade studies balancing schedule, cost, and risk.


• Provide technical guidance and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Your expertise in system integration and ability to navigate complex trade‑offs make you an ideal contributor to cutting‑edge development programs.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Interim Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering
•Experience in fuel system architecture development, analysis, and/or troubleshooting
•Analytical background in fluid / thermal dynamics using solvers such as AMESIM or Flomaster
Desired Skills:
•Prior experience with Aerial Refueling Systems
•Knowledgeable of governing specifications and standards
•Prior defense or aerospace industry customer experience
•Prior technical team experience related to the development or support of aircraft fuel systems
•Experience with defense / aerospace industry supplier management
•Experience troubleshooting faults on complex systems
•Experience creating, updating, and releasing engineering drawings
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
