Overview
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate work of mechanics on crew.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of work is completed within scheduled and budgeted parameters.
- Support and administer labor contract and ensure safety regulations.
- Communicate with other supervisors across other trades to help achieve and maintain smooth work flow and high degree of productivity.
- Use electronic Time Accounting System (WFM) to maintain employees' time and overtime daily.
- Must be available for Early Morning Overtime and Weekend Overtime rotation.
- Competent in Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
- Capacity to learn JIRA tasks (Lifting Pads, BPT, IIR, CAN).
- Learn and understand Lifting and Handling I&A, Spotted Pad, Fall Protection Working at Heights.
- Capable to be licensed in Aerial Lifts, Cars, Trucks, Vans.
- Attend morning production meetings and staff meetings.
- Adhere and enforce Process and Procedures that BIW implements.
- High-speed problem-solving skills in an adaptive environment.
Responsibilities
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
Qualifications
Required:
- Two years experience in Crane Operations and/or Yard Rigging.
- Understanding of shipbuilding/manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory experience.
- NCCCO or NCCER Experience Crane and/or rigging.
- Mobile hydraulic crane experience.
- Experience w/ Transporter, SPMT (Self Propelled Modular Transporter), Mobile Gantry, Mobile Hydraulic Crane, Bridge Crane.
