Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Flight Line Operations Support Manager (level K) to lead the Military Delivery Center in Tukwila, WA!  

As a member of the Leadership team, you will continuously lead and develop Operation Support Teams apprised of motive equipment operators (MEO), project management, equipment services, compliance, ordnance and training. Our Team supports several sites throughout the Puget Sound to include flight lines, labs and manufacturing areas. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and coaching skills that will further enable our business unit to embrace and elevate a one-team culture, driving a deep understanding of the standards, production health and problem-solving models.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple operation support disciplines
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
  • Domestic travel up to 10%

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Flightline operations
  • 3+ experience of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace
  • 3+ years’ experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leadership
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding and leading team
  • 3+ years of experience with forklift/ Motive Equipment Operator
  • 3+ years of experience with HAZMAT
  • Experience leading or managing in a union represented environment (IAM and/or SPEEA)
  • Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced role with strict deadlines

Summary pay range: $127,500 – $172,500
