As a Financial Analyst – Level 5 located in Chandler, AZ, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

   

Our Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in key financial activities, including monthly consolidations, variance analyses, forecast updates, and development of the Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP. You will leverage advanced tools (e.g., Costpoint, Excel, PowerPoint) while collaborating with stakeholders across Launch Systems (LS), the Launch and Exploration Division (LED), and Space Sector Operations and Business Management. You will also identify improvement opportunities, address gaps in financial systems or models, and support standardized processes by presenting clear financial insights and recommendations to management.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Your Role and Impact:

  • Model and reinforce adherence to company values and ethics in all activities
  • Serve as the FP&A Manager’s and BU CFO’s primary support, acting as FP&A second-in-command
  • Lead the monthly financial forecasting process, consolidating OU/BU inputs and providing analysis and recommendations on awards, sales, operating margin, and cash
  • Track and analyze variances between actuals, forecasts, and the LRSP, and present forecasts, variance analysis, and insights to LS leadership
  • Communicate financial status, key metrics, and deliverables to leadership and customers while driving improvements to common financial processes, documentation, and forecasting methodologies
  • Balance multiple priorities while providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development support to junior analysts and broader FP&A team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Finance, with 12 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree in Business Management or Finance, with 10 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 8 years of professional experience   
  • No clearance required to start
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel
  • Experience with financial forecasting

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience using Cognos TM1, Cognos Reports and Costpoint/SAP
  • Operational knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and business environments
  • History of involvement delivering presentations to senior management, covering both technical and operational topics
  • Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Experience with managing and analyzing data under strict deadlines

  • Attention to detail and critical eye for accuracy
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,400.00 - $189,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
