Summary

Job Description

Responsible for the movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods to support manufacturing operations. Process incoming and return material to ensure they are physically and electronically moved in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) database to a valid location. Assist in the preparation of returnable packaging and finished goods shipments as required. Additionally, the incumbent works with the Explosive Control Coordinator and the Environmental Health and Safety Departments to count, sort, and transport explosives and other hazardous and non-hazardous material.

Essential Functions:

  • Safely operate a forklift and other Powered Industrial Vehicles inside and outside, moving between various buildings on campus
  • Support material movement schedules to ensure manufacturing and shipping schedule attainment
  • Demonstrate basic/intermediate Microsoft and computer knowledge
  • Read and follow work instructions to safely transport and store non-hazardous and hazardous material in accordance with 49 CFR and IATA
  • Ability to learn the ERP system (Costpoint/Cognos) and process transactions electronically and physically to ensure overall inventory accuracy
  • Regularly lift and handle bulk material such as barrel/drums
  • Change out compressed gas cylinders
  • Perform cycle counts of stock on hand
  • Consolidate waste for disposal

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. 
  • Must be able to successfully complete forklift and other Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training and qualify on the equipment upon start.
  • Must be able to successfully complete AA&E key training.
  • Must be able to qualify as an ATF Responsible Person.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • The role operates very independently. Must be able to work autonomously.
  • Prior warehousing, material handling, or shipping/receiving experience and PIV training are highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with Hazardous materials or basic understanding of explosives and compatibility groups/N.E.W. is beneficial but not necessary.
