Location & Business Context
This role is based at our Evendale, OH facility, a central hub for GE Aerospace’s military engine portfolio. Evendale leads development, production, and sustainment for some of the world’s most critical combat and bomber engines, including the F110, F101, and F118.

As a senior member of the Product Management (EB) leadership team, the Executive Product Director will work closely with engineering, supply chain, services, commercial, and contracts teams, as well as U.S. and international defense customers and OEM partners.

Role Overview
The Executive Product Director – F110/F101/F118 is the accountable leader for the end-to-end business, performance, and lifecycle of these engine portfolios. This is a highly visible role with significant influence on GE Aerospace’s defense business and our customers’ mission readiness.

You will be responsible for:

  • Full P&L accountability (orders, revenue, margin, cash) for the F110/F101/F118 portfolios
  • Overall product safety, reliability, and airworthiness
  • Product and lifecycle strategy, including investment prioritization and execution
  • Cross-functional leadership across engineering, supply chain, services, commercial, and contracts
  • Direct engagement with key U.S. and international defense customers and airframers

This leader will drive mission readiness, contract performance, and long-term fleet support while ensuring outcomes aligned to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).

Key Responsibilities

Business Ownership & Financial Performance
Own the P&L for the F110, F101, and F118 product lines, including orders, revenue, margin, and cash; deliver to quarterly and annual commitments. Shape and execute portfolio strategy, including roadmap and investment prioritization to meet customer commitments and deliver long-term business outcomes. Lead cost and productivity initiatives across the lifecycle, balancing financial performance with mission readiness, sustainment effectiveness, and fleet supportability. Identify and manage business risks and opportunities, ensuring transparent communication and timely decision-making with senior leadership.

Safety, Airworthiness & Compliance
Champion product safety, reliability, and airworthiness, ensuring rigorous risk management, root cause, and corrective action processes. Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements, maintaining robust governance for safety and product decisions. Lead in alignment with FLIGHT DECK (lean operating) principles, driving continuous improvement in SQDC performance. Serve as a visible advocate for a strong safety culture, ensuring that safety is embedded in decisions across design, production, and field support.

Governance & Decision-Making
As delegated by the Executive Director, chair the Program Control Board (PCB) and Safety Product Management Team (SPMT). Execute all PCB and SPMT responsibilities in accordance with company policy, including key approvals, risk reviews, and configuration decisions. Own major product decisions, including (but not limited to) Class I design changes, source changes, cost and weight changes, selected customer communications, and financial risk releases. Provide clear, data-driven recommendations and decisions to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Product & Lifecycle Leadership
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the F110/F101/F118 product lines, ensuring mission readiness, contract performance, and long-term fleet support. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver upgrades, reliability improvements, sustainment actions, and cost/productivity initiatives across the portfolio. Ensure effective lifecycle management, from development and production through sustainment, modernization, and retirement planning. Align product roadmaps with customer needs, emerging threats, and technology opportunities, ensuring the engines remain competitive and mission-relevant.

Customer, OEM, and Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the executive point of contact for U.S. and international defense customers and key OEM partners for F110/F101/F118. Maintain trusted, senior-level relationships and drive the voice-of-customer into product strategies and business decisions. Lead or significantly participate in key customer engagements, reviews, and forums, including:

  • LPA (Wright-Patterson AFB – Acquisition)
  • LPS (Tinker AFB – Sustainment)
  • International Engine Management Program (IEMP)
  • Airframers and other OEM partners

Participate significantly in sales campaigns, contributing to capture strategy, value-selling, competitive positioning, and customer negotiations.

Delivery, Supply Chain & Operations Alignment
Ensure delivery performance across new hardware, spare parts, and MRO, including effective management of constraints, lead times, and allocation. Partner closely with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Product Operations, and Engineering to optimize delivery for new engine builds, spares, and MRO. Drive cross-functional alignment to meet or exceed customer delivery and mission readiness expectations. Anticipate and mitigate supply chain and industrialization risks, ensuring transparency and timely escalation as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; engineering degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in aerospace/defense and/or complex industrial product leadership, including services/sustainment .
  • Proven track record leading large, cross-functional programs with significant scale, technical complexity, and customer visibility.
  • Strong communication, influence, and presentation skills, with executive-level presence and comfort engaging with senior customers and leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in international, customer-facing leadership roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing P&L, complex contracts, and global supply chains.
  • Demonstrated lean/continuous improvement leadership and transformation experience, ideally with exposure to FLIGHT DECK or similar operating systems.
  • Experience in defense acquisition, sustainment, or government / industry partnership environments.
  • Familiarity with combat and bomber platforms and their operational contexts.
