Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Industrial Engineer/Principal Industrial Engineer to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Grand Sky, North Dakota. Due to the nature of this role, this position requires an on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.

The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Grand Sky. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Please note: This position requires both a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access and is contingent upon Business/Customer funding.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.
  • Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints.
  • Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools.
  • Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.
  • Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers.
  • Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies.
  • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.

Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree with 1 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 0 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and special program access in reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and special program access in reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance with Program Access
  • Experience in analyzing large quantities of data to determine KPIs/performance metric reporting and analysis.
  • Prior experience working with complex databases SAP, Oracle, SQL relational etc
  • Experience in or knowledge of a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or business environment
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams
  • Experience with shop floor control systems
  • Experience/certifications in lean/process improvement
  • Experience interfacing with suppliers and leadership.
  • Experience with schedule creation and briefing
  • Experience using a data analytics visualization software package (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Lumira).
