Summary

Job Description

Amentum is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance III to work in Yorktown, Virginia on the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) project. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate independently with minimal guidance or supervision from Management.
  • Prep and certify Mk-84 Weapon Tracking systems as well as install, recheck and remove Mk-84 Weapon Pinger systems from Heavyweights at the Yorktown Weapon Shop (which is the work location).
  • Complete all documentation for P2K entries for ALL Heavyweight efforts.
  • Support all UTS operations at Norfolk, coordinating all installations, rechecks and removals with West Palm Beach.
  • May be required to support UTS rechecks by themselves.
  • Must pass all medical testing and weapon certifications at Yorktown to work on Heavyweight weapons at the Weapon Shop.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a related field such as Acoustics or Electronics.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with an extended education in a higher learning field such as Acoustics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or any Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical educational background; 4 years of military experience in a related field such as Acoustics or Electronics is an acceptable substitute for requirement of extended education in a higher learning field such as Acoustics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or any Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical educational background.
  • Carry/Lift/Pull/Push up to 50 pounds of material and/or equipment.
  • Must be able to travel between Yorktown and Norfolk to support test requirements.
  • A valid U.S. passport and driver's license are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

​Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Naval background with shipboard and sonar experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Naval procedures and regulations and experience on U.S. Naval Submarines is a plus.
