Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector is looking for a Drafter 2/3 to join our team in Boulder, Colorado.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computer-aided design tools to create, modify, and detail engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations based on established layouts and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.
  • Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
  • Interpret design sketches, engineering notes, and specifications to produce technical drawings
  • Develop and maintain accurate drafting documentation, including assembly drawings and schematics.

This requisition may be filled as either a level 2 or level 3.

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; 0 years with a Master's. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance
  • Familiarity in creating detailed 2D and 3D models
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with or knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance
  • Familiarity in creating detailed 2D and 3D models
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with or knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems

Preferred Qualification:

  • Proficient in CAD software including NX, CAD CREO, or SOLID WORKS
  • Experience with Siemen’s Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
  • Experience in developing Electronic Part specifications, particularly using military or Industry requirements and specifications
  • Experience with technical writing for documentation purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
  • 5 years’ experience detailing mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies
  • Familiar with ASME Standards
  • Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
