SAIC is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to support the AOC Weapons System Falconer Program, and compliant configuration, sustainment, and troubleshooting of mission-critical Command and Control (C2) systems across various Air Operations Centers (AOCs) worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support AOC Weapons System Falconer Program: Provide cybersecurity support for the Air Operations Center (AOC) Weapons System Falconer Program, ensuring mission readiness and operational effectiveness.
  • Compliance and Configuration: Perform compliant configuration of mission-critical Command and Control (C2) systems, adhering to established cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
  • System Sustainment: Sustain and maintain the ongoing functionality and security of C2 systems across various Air Operations Centers (AOCs) worldwide, ensuring continuous operational availability.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to C2 systems to minimize downtime and maintain mission-critical operations.
  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor C2 systems for security breaches or anomalies and promptly respond to incidents to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, and security incidents, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and program managers, to ensure integrated and secure operations across all AOCs.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance and support to end-users and less experienced team members, helping to foster a security-conscious culture and enhance the overall cybersecurity posture of the organization.

Qualifications



Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or relevant technical discipline.
  • Equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 10+ years’ experience with cybersecurity, information assurance, and certification and accreditation including at least 5 years in a DOD environment.
  • 8 years of experience in implementing vulnerability assessment and conducting data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Situational Awareness, to include Security Information and Event Management (SIEM: Atc, Splunk, Elastic Stack, etc.) and other cyber tools.
  • Knowledge Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration in high-performance environments.
  • CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III) required within 30 days of hire).
  • Eligible to obtain Secret/ TS Clearance

Desired Skill Sets:

  • CISSP certification highly desired.
  • Experience working in a USAF AOC and general understanding of AOC processes and procedures in support of execution of the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).
  • Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related deg
  • Experience working in Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) and general understanding of CAOC processes and procedures in support of execution of the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).
