Your Impact:

The mission of the Lone Wolf program is to support, operate, and maintain the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES) which is a DoD-provided, TS/SCI, integrated voice, video, and data, global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. The Lone Wolf program boasts a professional workforce comprised of specialists throughout the Information Technology lifecycle and who contribute to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Configuration Management Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Deliver weekly updates on ongoing configuration management (CM) planning, configuration item status, change status/schedule and configuration audits to the customer and management, keeping leadership informed of CM progress and escalating any identified roadblocks as necessary
  • Provide latest ITIL/ITSM configuration and change management (CM) processes and to contribute valuable insights and recommendations for the selection and identification of hardware and software configuration approved items that align with and meet the specific standards and requirements set by the customer
  • Develop, update, and manage comprehensive configuration management (CM) procedures and work instruction documentation, and policy manuals to ensure the consistent application of CM rigor, while also striving to enhance overall operational efficiency and effectiveness across the team
  • Configure, administer, and continuously maintain configuration management (CM) tools to effectively support the processes of configuration identification, control, reporting, release, and delivery, ensuring that products and systems are accurately tracked and managed throughout their lifecycle
  • Demonstrate configuration management (CM) activities to guarantee that the operating parameters of new products are thoroughly documented, fully compliant with established standards
  • Perform and execute configuration management (CM) processes, procedures, and develop documentation to align with customer requirements, while also training team members on the proper use of CM tools
  • Leverage creative thinking and collaborative ideation to drive business performance, crafting innovative, adaptable, and integrated solutions that effectively address both current customer requirements and evolving business needs, fostering long-term success and responsiveness to change
  • Develop and implement comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) that define and streamline IT workflows, promoting consistency, efficiency, and the adoption of best practices across all related processes and tasks within the organization
  • Adhere to and fully integrate all customer policies and procedures into daily operations, consistently aligning with their established guidelines and requirements to maintain a high standard of compliance and service quality

Requirements:

  • Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • A strong background in utilizing Configuration Management Database (CMDB) technology, with hands-on experience in managing and leveraging CMDB tools to track and organize IT assets, configurations, and related data effectively within the organization
  • Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle processes (from design through disposal)
  • Proficiency with Configuration Management tools such as: PTC Windchill, IBM Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest, Git, Subversion (SVN), JIRA, Confluence, or other software with similar capabilities
  • Familiarity with revision control, bill of materials (BOM), and product data management (PDM) systems
  • Must understand hardware standards, like:
  • ANSI/EIA-649 (CM Standard)
  • MIL-STD-973 / MIL-HDBK-61A (Defense standards)
  • Ability to manage hardware baselines, engineering change proposals (ECPs), and Configuration Status Accounting (CSA)
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, normally Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime if needed.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Clearance Required:

  • Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant experience

Required Certifications:

  • Must possess one of the following 8140 IAT Level II or III baseline certifications:
  • Level II certs include - CCNA Security, GISCP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP
  • Level III certs include - CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH

Preferred:

  • Configuration Management Principles and Implementation Certification
  • CM2-PRO Certification
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • ITIL V3-4 Foundation Certified
  • NDIA Certification
  • Data Management Certification
