Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Computer Operations Analyst – Level 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) in Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The selected Computer Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in the BMDS OPIR Architecture Operations team, providing 24/7/365 software and system administration support for live operational systems, which directly supports down range decision makers. This is a shiftwork position on a Pitman schedule, with shifts starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. and vice versa.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor software processes and system performance
  • Patch OS, server, and vendor components with approved patches
  • Conduct system level troubleshooting and provide resolution
  • Analysis system and software logs for potential performance issues
  • Conduct account management and auditing functions
  • Configure software and system components per operational instructions
  • Provide initial analysis of software events and their causes
  • Collect and create data packages for transfer and analysis

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated and current security clearance level and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0-2 years of experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Applicants must possess a current DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated engineers.
  • Proficient with general system administration of Linux servers from the CLI.
  • Familiar with system and software troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiar with customer facing roles
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office products use.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application, which is required to start.
  • Applicants must possess a counter-intelligence polygraph or the willingness to undergo a counter-intelligence polygraph examination as part of the employment and clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with CLI administration of RHEL 9 OS.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Chef)
  • Proficient with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • Possess Linux specific certifications (RHCSA, Linux+)
  • Familiar with RSA, NetApp, and HPE appliances/servers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products
  • Experience supporting 24/7 Operations on an Operations Floor
  • Experience with customer-facing roles
  • Familiar with data analysis tasks and methodologies

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
