The Boeing Company’s Specialized United States Infrastructure Operations is currently seeking a Cloud Platform Administrator (Mid-Level, Senior or Lead) to join the team in Berkeley, MO; Seattle, WA; or Daytona Beach, FL

The Infrastructure team is seeking a skilled platform engineer to help build and operate the cloud platform services that host critical enterprise applications and software toolchains. In this role, the selected candidate will focus on the shared platform capabilities that enable teams to deploy, run, and maintain containerized and cloud-hosted solutions in a consistent and supportable manner.

As both an individual contributor and technical leader, this position will help define and implement platform standards for Kubernetes, container hosting, deployment automation, configuration management, and operational support.

This role is focused on platform reliability, repeatability, scalability, and service enablement, rather than custom application software development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud platform services supporting Kubernetes, containers, ingress, storage integration, secrets management, and service connectivity

  • Build and sustain reusable deployment patterns for Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Open Source Software (OSS), and internally customized applications

  • Develop and maintain automation for platform provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle support

  • Manage cluster lifecycle activities including:

    • Cluster upgrades

    • Node management

    • Add-on management

    • Observability integration

    • Resilience improvements

    • Capacity planning

  • Support Azure Kubernetes Service, OpenShift, Tanzu, or similar shared platform services

  • Partner with infrastructure and application teams to onboard services onto the platform

  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform hosting, connectivity, and integration issues

  • Support monitoring, logging, alerting, and platform health management

  • Improve deployment consistency using:

    • Helm-based configuration

    • Git-based workflows

    • Infrastructure as Code

  • Establish and maintain platform documentation, standards, and support procedures

  • Evaluate and implement platform capabilities that improve scalability and ease of operations

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering and/or product management

  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • 3+ years of experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)

  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud, Containerization and Automation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience hosting enterprise COTS/OSS applications on Kubernetes

  • Experience with Helm charts, operators, and container image lifecycle management

  • Experience with persistent storage integration and backup / recovery

  • Experience defining reusable platform standards for multiple teams

  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Azure Administrator and/or Azure Solutions Architect

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $104,550 – $162,150

Summary pay range for Senior: $127,500 – $197,800

Summary pay range for Lead: $153,000 – $239,200
