SAIC is seeking a CAD Mechanical Engineer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch.

This position is on-site in Aberdeen, MD. Relocation assistance may be offered. 

In support of the Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract (IAC MAC) and Task Order (TO), SAIC is seeking multiple qualified and cleared candidates.  We are currently assembling our team of experienced professionals who have in-depth experience in providing expertise to support research, development, assessments, adaption, transformation, testing, integration, demonstrations, transition, fielding, sustainment, and enhancement of designated information and/or intelligence software systems.
 
Job Duties:

  • Lead a small team of CAD Designers to include team oversight, workload management, QA of work performed, task tracking and documentation using JIRA, reporting work status during SCRUM meetings.

  • Work with design team to generate 3D models, initial drawings and schematics in a computer environment.

  • CAD Designer will collaborate closely with system engineering and product development teams to translate conceptual designs into tangible products, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.

  • Digitizes, edits, and revises engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies.

  • Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.

  • Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.

  • May make engineering computations, mathematical calculations, determine scales, and prepares or revises specifications.

  • May prepare pattern generating or artwork tapes for mask fabrication and operate plotters to obtain circuit drawings.

  • Selects and monitors vendor support for CAD engineers and technicians to ensure state-of-the-art applications and equipment by expansion of systems and linkage to automated test equipment.

  • Oversee enhancement of software to company standards and practices, promotes expansion of applications for users.

  • Monitor those who maintain the system and provide advice regarding problem areas and corrective action to be taken.

  • Work closely with the design engineers and technicians to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; an additional four (4) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

  • MUST have experience working in SolidWorks.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical drawing creation and review.

  • Strong technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and able to take direction and constructive criticism.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required; a TS/SCI is required to maintain employment

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
