Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking Field Service Representative to provide on-site C-17 company representation and technical support to the team at Joint-Base Lewis-McChord, Washington in conjunction with the C-17 Globemaster Integrated Sustainment Partnership (G3) contract.

You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short-notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers.

Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements.

Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site C-17 company representation and technical support on C-17 aircraft systems to the US Air Force at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington in conjunction with the C-17 Globe master Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) contract
  • Utilize multi-disciplined technical expertise and company knowledge to assist the customer
  • Sustain a high level of proficiency in the operation and maintenance of company products by investigating technical problems, determining causes, and developing/implementing corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Understand customer expectations and assist the customer in interpreting and using support data and documents and provide technical on-the-job training
  • Act as the on-site liaison between the company and customer personnel of widely varying backgrounds to gain resolution of significant technical and operational issues
  • Work unsupervised for extended periods of time in a wide variety of cultural/economic conditions
  • Provide technical field support for the C-17 on aircraft systems to include hydraulics, propulsion, landing gear, and mission systems
  • Perform troubleshooting procedures for avionics systems to the customer. Resolve maintenance and operational issues
  • Interpret technical documents and monitor product performance. Develop and conduct ad hoc training on avionics systems topics
  • Analyze technical data and evaluate maintenance procedures
  • Requires the ability to work independently in a demanding, on-call, 24-hour per day operational environment
  • Must be willing to work any shift, weekends or on call as required. Requires proficiency working in a multi-disciplined environment to include but not limited to C-17 Hydraulics, Propulsion, Landing Gear, and Mission Systems
  • Must be willing to travel to other US and foreign operating locations to assist with the customer's mission and maintenance demands as well as the recovery of disabled aircraft

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting C-17A aircraft
  • Minimum 5 years of knowledge/understanding of mechanical, environmental, avionics and flight control systems, and electrical/electronic systems
  • Must be able to function in a demanding on-call, around the clock operational environment
  • Travel up to 25% to other operating locations to assist with operations, maintenance, and recovery of aircraft will be required
  • Willing to work any shift – occasional overtime and weekends when necessary
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting C-17, electrical/electronic, environmental, and avionics systems is preferred
  • Previous military experience or extensive familiarity with military operations and written maintenance procedures
  • Experience with C-17 field or depot is preferred
  • Production Superintendent Experience is desired
  • Extensive experience using maintenance data collection and analysis (G081) is desired
  • Extensive knowledge of C-17 Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) is desired

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $91,800 - $124,200.
