The Business System Analyst is responsible for a full range of activities to collect, review and analyze information, and identify business trends and problems. Develop recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business solutions that enable assigned COE or program to control costs or improve efficiency to achieve business goals. This position is US remote telework and requires US Citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of business areas of responsibility to produce overall definitions of work-flow and discern needs currently filled using in-place or proposed solutions.
  • Select the most appropriate analytical technique. Review and analyze information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures, and compare against service standards and best practices to identify improvements that would increase efficiency or productivity in work effort.
  • Recommend alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals, including business systems and modifications/changes to ineffective business methods and processes.
  • Identify and maximize opportunities to utilize computer systems resources to collect data regarding service or program business processes.
  • Define the business case for objectives of new projects, including identification of business needs.
  • Participate in business process engineering projects with the aim of continually improving the efficiency of the business.
  • Evaluate possible solutions to business issues.
  • Generate functional requirements, gain approval of stakeholders to ensure that they meet business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Advanced Excel knowledge

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, process improvement or other related area, or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in business analysis or process improvement.
  • Experience in relational database SQL language.
  • Experience working with common financial transactions, PO Systems and/or journal entries.
  • Costpoint experience preferred.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Familiarity with Cognos reporting preferred.

Compensation Details:

$80k -$100k
