Job Description

Castelion is seeking an Avionics / Electrical Quality Inspector - reporting to the Quality organization—to support the development and manufacturing of avionics, harnessing, and electrical assemblies for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. This is an hourly, non-exempt position located in our Torrance facility. In this role, you will work closely with manufacturing and engineering to ensure avionics and electrical hardware meets all design, workmanship, and compliance requirements prior to flight, test, and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of avionics, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, and electrical components
  • Inspect hardware to IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, engineering drawings, and internal workmanship standards
  • Verify electrical assemblies for proper routing, terminations, pinouts, labeling, and configuration
  • Review and validate certifications, traceability, and lot control documentation for electrical materials and components
  • Identify, document, and clearly communicate nonconformances to manufacturing and engineering
  • Partner with engineering to interpret drawings, resolve inspection issues, and support rapid iteration
  • Support first article inspections (FAI) and configuration verification of avionics hardware
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure compliance with quality management system requirements
  • Assist in the development and refinement of inspection procedures and acceptance criteria
  • Support audits and customer or government source inspections as required

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience inspecting avionics or electrical assemblies in an aerospace or defense environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Experience using inspection and test equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers
  • Familiarity with electrical workmanship standards and flight hardware requirements
  • High attention to detail with the ability to detect subtle workmanship defects

  • Experience supporting R&D and early production manufacturing environments
  • Prior experience inspecting flight or mission-critical hardware
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-output environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting production schedules
  • Familiarity with digital documentation systems and quality records
