General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Automation Engineering, Sr. Technician - 3rd Shift to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow.

GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

Responsibilities

  • Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
  • Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.
  • Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
  • Investigate and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance.

Manager Specific Requests:

  • Programs and troubleshoots PLCs and associated control systems.
  • Reads and understands equipment schematics.
  • Designs simple electronic control systems, specifies control equipment, builds and installs control systems.


Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree & 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education and/or Experience.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree
