Northrop Grumman’s business unit Armament Systems is seeking an Associate (Level 1) Production Planning and Scheduler for our facility in Mesa, AZ.

Through its management of America’s largest, privately owned proving grounds, Armament Systems Division allows NGDS and its customers the ability to rapidly test weapons and demilitarize them when necessary

The Associate Production Planner and Scheduler is responsible for Production Control representation on the manufacturing floor & will act as a liaison between the warehouse, operations and production control. This position will work within a team environment across the entire Guns Production Range campus. The ideal candidate will have strong teambuilding skills, exhibit strong leadership potential, and possess comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and coordinating material delivery to the floor in support of the MPS.
  • Supports the organization’s goals by managing and coordinating material needs in the factory to keep production moving.
  • Responsible for supporting all program builds by collaborating with each program Production Control Scheduler to resolve manufacturing order delays.
  • Finalize product staging & accurately queue the production plan to drive on-time-to-start manufacturing orders.
  • Resolve MES and Costpoint issues on behalf of the Production Control team
  • Responsible for maintaining COTS material forward stock supply on the floor to cover manufacturing incidentals
  • Monitor build through the factory and ensure appropriate actions/escalations are taken to prevent production line-down scenarios
  • Help to prioritize and expedite incoming material as necessary to ensure the material is inspected and accepted and placed into inventory necessary to fulfill manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Traffic, and Contract Administration; schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and request for shipping orders.

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree & 0 years of experience, OR 4 years of related experience in production planning and scheduling and a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of MRP required.
  • Experience in Costpoint and MES a plus.
  • Excellent math and communication skills. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point, Visio).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a business field preferably supply chain & 1 year of related experience
