Overview

The Quonset Point Maintenance Area Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Ops Supervisors associated with QPs Maintenance organization.

The Maintenance Area Superintendent reports to the Maintenance Manager and will be required but not limited to:

  • Provide input on manpower needs to the department manager
  • Monitor and respond to the departments Cost and Schedule performance
  • Assist with succession planning and talent management within the department
  • Improve workforce capabilities by identifying training needs and development plans; plan and execute training within the shop.
  • Create an engaging workplace climate; reinforce desired workforce values and behaviors; continuously improving morale.
  • Lead critique investigations; and implement corrective actions

The candidate must possess the ability to build and maintain relationships with their Operations Supervisors, Operations Customers, and vendors. The ability to work independently in a fast paced, detail oriented environment is crucial. The Applicant should have a proven track record in safety, maintaining quality, achieving schedules, initiating process improvements and possess strong communication skills. This candidate should possess the ability to motivate and train first line supervision, promote employee development and training while embracing a positive team environment.

Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a final secret clearance to remain in this position.

Applicant must be available to work overtime including emergent situations, extended hours and weekends, and severe weather, when required.

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

  • Applicant must have a proven record of progress toward performance goals and process improvement.
  • Applicant must have project management experience.
  • Applicant must have CMMS experience
  • Applicant must be capable of ensuring the departments safe work practices outlined by OSHA, the NFPA, the NEC, etc.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 6+ years of industrial Maintenance experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required

Preferred:

  • EB experience
  • Military experience
