SAIC is seeking an Application Systems Administrator to join our team and play a critical role in managing hybrid cloud and client/server-based systems. This role directly supports the performance, security, and reliability of the program’s business systems, ensuring seamless operations and scalability.

As an Application Systems Administrator, you will address server-related issues for COTS applications, collaborate on system build & configuration, and support end users who rely on business systems. Success in this position requires technical expertise in system operations, the applications software development lifecycle, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a collaborative mindset.

ONSITE: 5 Days a week Wash. DC.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration: Manage, maintain, and optimize client/server-based and hybrid cloud-based and business application systems. Identify and resolve application-related issues while working closely with functional teams and/or vendor support to address system issues and vulnerability response.  The following platforms fall under system administration:

  • JIRA:  Assist in the Jira Service Management platform administration and JIRA backend/process development/improvement.
  • SQL Server: SQL Server Administration and database operations.
  • SharePoint:  Assist in SharePoint Administration activities to include both front and back-end administration.

User Support & Collaboration: Provide technical support to end users, ensuring they can access and utilize business systems effectively. Work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge and guiding peer system administrators.

Incident Management: Use incident management best practices to address system-level issues quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Soft Skills: Provide analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills coupled with excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.  Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail and high-quality output.

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 4 years of experience as a system administrator managing either/or hybrid cloud and client/server environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Jira Service Management platform (back-end development) and incident & problem management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in SQL Server Administration and database operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft SharePoint Administration.
  • Demonstrated experience of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related processes.
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management Platforms (e.g., IBM Rational or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Perl, or Bash).

    • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate

  • Additional and/or Beneficial Experience:
    • Familiarity with, or knowledge of Microsoft Access.
    • Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Terraform, or Ansible).
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc. 
    • Familiarity with incident management platforms for reporting, automation, and deployment.
    • Familiarity with, or knowledge of Crystal Reports.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
