As the Americas Customs Operations Leader, you will be responsible for leading the region operations team , covering 4 countries, USA, MX, BR, CA. Management of Customs Brokers and Customs Vendors to assure for 200,000 shipments annually execute to requirements. Oversee 60 GE Aerospace sites export and import process conformance to requirements, lead corrective actions as needed; manage government agency compliance reporting, replies, and audit participation; and special program execution. Lead global external audit preparation and audit processes. Own KPI’s to monitor Enterprise Standard and regulatory conformance to reduce risk and optimize process lead time.This role is open to remote consideration in the state of Ohio but must close to the Evendale site to be able to come on site when needed, sometimes with short notice.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate within a global model and execute the strategy for Customs operations in the region
- Ensure the pre-declaration review is performed including confirmation that valuation, classification, country of origin and any applicable special program documentation is complete before an import or export occurs
- Work with approved agents to support daily customs clearances and own shipment issue resolution
- Ensure there are trained personnel supporting the Customs activities in the region
- Duty mitigation with the extensive LEAN understanding
- Identify Customs risks areas and develop actionable plans and procedures to mitigate those risks
- Evaluate internal controls and drive implementation of recommended improvement plans
- Prepare periodic reports and metrics on duty, quality, savings, opportunities, risks, accomplishments and value creation
- Lead Regional Customs Councils
- Lead business level risk reviews and action plans for risk reduction
- Manage local Customs agency relationships
- Respond to Internal/External requests & investigations
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with minimum 5 years experience in Customs Processes

The salary range for this position is $128,000 - 171,000 USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
