Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Quality engineers. This position will be located on-site at our Aeronautics Systems Sector Melbourne, FL location.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Assurance organization.

The selected candidate will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Other duties include:

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

  • May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

This requisition may be filled as either an Associate Engineer Software Quality or Engineer Software Quality.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Software Quality:

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial/Industrial & Systems Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or other related STEM degree

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • Final approved U.S. Government Secret security clearance AND final Special Access Program clearance are required to start

criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial/Industrial & Systems Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or other related STEM degree

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • Final approved U.S. Government Secret security clearance AND final Special Access Program clearance are required to start

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Experience in at least one coding language

  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork experience

  • Involvement in student organizations, professional engineering organizations, or other extracurriculars

  • Active US Secret security clearance

Salary Range:

  • Associate Engineer Software Quality: $59,900 - $89,900/year

  • Engineer Software Quality: $72,100 - $108,100/year

Secondary Level Salary Range: $90,100.00 - $108,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
