Northrop Grumman is seeking Signature Management and Survivability Engineers. This position will be located on-site at our Aeronautics Systems sector in Redondo Beach, CA.  This position may be filled as either an Associate Signature Management and Survivability Engineer or Signature Management and Survivability Engineer.

Example Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and integrates advanced technology to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum
  • Develops and implements predictive analysis codes; builds and tests physical models; designs, develops, and builds test and verification equipment; and develops, tests, and integrates specialty materials
  • Works closely with engineers of other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Signature Management and Survivability Engineer:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by January 2027

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Acoustics Engineering, or other related STEM degree program

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • A final U.S. Secret security clearance is required to start

  • The ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

  • Active Secret security clearance or Top Secret security clearance

  • Coursework and/or experience in Electrical Engineering

  • Coursework and/or experience in electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability; or comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials

  • Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical languages

  • Experience in signature integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing 

  • Experience in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX

  • Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (FMS, Patran, Cubit, etc.)

  • Experience with 3D Method of Moments (MoM) such as SENTRi and 3D Physical Optics (PO) codes such as Xpatch

  • Knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer 

Salary Range:

  • Associate Signature Management and Survivability Engineer: $83,300 - $125,800/year

  • Signature Management and Survivability Engineer: $101,000 - $151,400/year
