Sr. Global Supply Manager, Datacenter Memory and Storage (Starlink)

Austin, TX
Full Time On-site

We are seeking an experienced Senior Global Supply Manager to own end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, and delivery of leading-edge datacenter memory and storage solutions, spanning HBM, DDR5, enterprise SSDs and other memory on the roadmap. In this role, you will partner directly with silicon architects, memory and storage engineers, and platform teams to define commodity strategy, build multi-year technology roadmaps, establish and maintain the approved vendor list, and secure massive-scale supply at the record-breaking build speeds the SpaceXAI team is driving. You will negotiate transformative, high-value agreements, accelerate delivery timelines, actively manage inventory across the supply chain, and continuously optimize for cost, quality, speed, and supply chain resilience in one of the most competitive and dynamic AI infrastructure programs on the planet. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who thrives in ambiguous, high-velocity environments, possesses exceptional commercial and technical acumen, and has a proven track record of delivering outsized results in hyperscale memory and storage procurement.

  • Orchestrate demand forecasting and allocation across SpaceXAI companies to ensure balanced supply support for all programs
  • Own global sourcing, including supplier qualification, multi-sourcing strategies, and performance management to meet build schedules and reduce lead times
  • Negotiate agreements focused on competitive pricing, volume commitments, and preferential allocation, using creative approaches where needed to secure supply at reasonable cost
  • Align internal roadmaps with key vendors and collaborate on capacity planning and technology development
  • Monitor supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans to protect build schedules
  • Drive cost reduction through should-cost analysis, long-term agreements, and value engineering while meeting quality and reliability requirements
  • Build strong supplier relationships through regular reviews and joint projects
  • Track KPIs for cost, quality, delivery, and resilience; report progress to leadership

  • 7+ years of experience in global supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or commodity management with a focus on semiconductors, memory, storage, or datacenter infrastructure

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Deep technical understanding of datacenter memory architectures (HBM, DDR5, LPDDR, high-bandwidth solutions), enterprise storage (SSDs, NVMe, storage-class memory), and related supply ecosystems
  • Proven experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology or hyperscale environments with direct responsibility for large-scale memory/storage sourcing
  • Previous experience at hyperscalers, memory/storage OEMs (e.g., Micron, SK hynix, Samsung), AI infrastructure companies, or semiconductor supply organizations
  • Demonstrated success negotiating and managing complex, high-value supplier relationships in volatile, supply-constrained markets
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, financial modeling, and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Familiarity with commodity management, long-term roadmap planning, vendor development, capacity reservation agreements, and approved vendor list processes
  • Passion for SpaceX's mission and excitement about contributing to the fastest AI infrastructure builds on Earth

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

About SpaceX

SpaceX

SpaceX is one of the most influential aerospace companies in the world, transforming space launch, satellite communications, and deep-space transportation. Founded by Elon Musk, SpaceX designs and manufactures advanced rockets and spacecraft, including Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Starship, alongside the Dragon spacecraft and the Starlink satellite internet constellation. The company plays a major role in U.S. space access, national security launch capabilities, and commercial space infrastructure.

For job seekers, SpaceX offers opportunities across some of the most demanding engineering disciplines in the industry, including aerospace engineering, propulsion, software development, avionics, manufacturing, robotics, materials science, and mission operations. The company is especially attractive to engineers, technicians, and builders who want to work in a high-intensity environment focused on rapid iteration, vertical integration, and hands-on hardware development at scale.

Unlike traditional aerospace contractors that rely heavily on long development cycles, SpaceX operates with a fast-paced, vertically integrated engineering culture where teams design, build, test, and fly systems in rapid succession. Employees often work directly on flight hardware and production systems, contributing to programs that routinely push the boundaries of reusability, launch frequency, and cost reduction in space access.

As global demand for satellite communications, space infrastructure, and national security launch services continues to grow, SpaceX remains one of the most important employers in aerospace and defense-adjacent technology. For professionals seeking a highly challenging, mission-driven career at the cutting edge of spaceflight and advanced engineering, SpaceX stands out as one of the most ambitious and impactful companies in the world.
