Fabrication B (Shift 1 & 2)

Plans work and layout, sets up and fabricates a wide variety of intricate, experimental and/or production parts from raw material. Includes operating numerous presses and using other hand tools. Works with and interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc. to accomplish assigned work. Checks and inspects operations against specified tolerances.

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to use basic hand tools and fixturing
• Must use PPE for appropriate protection.
• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and shop orders.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Keep an accurate completion of required documentation involved in the firing of parts, travelers, logs, process control data etc.
• Kiln maintenance, including minor repair and TC validations.
• House keeping
• Easily trained, work well with engineering and supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Requires developing job knowledge/skills.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Basic computer skills.
• Mechanical experience background.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Good writing and communications skills.
