Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

You will provide quality first technical support, independent of Engineering, through early intervention and understanding of design requirements. This role will collaborate with various Integrated Product Teams (IPT), to include System Test, through integration and involvement from the lowest to highest levels. Validate Program and IPT objectives are being met through confirmation of task performance, by analyzing historical data, implementing/executing review processes, inspecting, testing and evaluating product, to include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.

This will include design team(s) engagement and various meeting attendance on a regular basis.  Engaging Supplier Management Teams, Subcontract Administrators, Supplier Quality, Quality Field Engineers, Responsible Engineers (RE), Test Engineers, Safety Engineers, Materials and Process Engineers, and Reliability Engineers to verify compliance to quality standards and contractual requirements as they pertain to the equipment being procured. Participate in audits to identify quality related deficiencies, evaluate non-conformances, and negative performance trends and failures; support determining root cause and corrective actions necessary to prevent a future reoccurrence. Deliver Daily /weekly metrics and information to the team lead for leadership decision point execution.  This will require good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work closely with the IPT leaders and design group(s). Strong computer skills are necessary, CAD experience preferred, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Basic Qualifications:

Mission Assurance Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years of experience with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, Change Management or Program Integration

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Quality Assurance experience with enforcement of AS9100 standards

  • Knowledgeable in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) - Lean Six Sigma, Agile and Root Cause Analysis

Principal Mission Assurance Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of experience with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, Change Management or Program Integration

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Quality Assurance experience with enforcement of AS9100 standards

  • Knowledgeable in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) - Lean Six Sigma, Agile and Root Cause Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background

  • Adept at performing design development and/or review using modeling tools

  • Requirements proficiency and comprehension: Supplier (Subcontractor) Data Requirements List (SDRL), Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), Technical Review Board (TRB), Change Control Board (CCB)

  • Product design support engagement – Product Definition Package (PDP), Technical Data Package (TDP), First Article Inspection (FAI)

  • Non-conforming material operations - Material Review Board (MRB) processing and disposition

  • Process Improvement Facilitation – Continuous Improvement and Corrective Action support

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
