We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager Quality 2 based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provides overall management of the Receiving Inspection department by setting and operating to objectives, and providing guidance to direct reports based on goals, objectives, and company policy.

  • Engages on the shop floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring facility personnel in quality methods and procedures.

  • Assures compliance in program quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality, configuration, and data management in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Develops, manages, and monitors operating unit quality metrics, corrective action boards, and program audit metrics and processes to facilitate continuous improvement activities.

  • Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer, and employee feedback to assess program quality performance and risks.

  • Develops, manages, and monitors departmental budgets for cost center direct/indirect costs, overhead costs, productive yields, and resource planning.

  • Responsible for the management of program budgets, schedules, program EACs and performance (using EV) for the quality scope of effort on programs.

  • Frequent interface with executives and customer representatives, including on-site DCMA representatives, concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.

  • Maintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications, and customer requirements

  • Promotes the professional development of the quality engineering workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, data analysis, problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment, work with minimal oversight in a team environment, and proficient with Microsoft Office.

Basic Qualifications for Manager Quality 2:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience in Quality control, Inspection, Quality Assurance, Product Assurance, Mission Assurance, or Manufacturing; Master's Degree with 6 years of experience; Associate Degree with 10 years of experience; OR 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience (Integrated Product Teams leadership or direct-line management).

  • QMS (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc) experience.

  • Experience providing solutions, coaching, and mentoring others in the use of quality principles and practices.

  • Experience leading continuous improvement activities.

  • Experience articulating concepts and concerns to technical and non-technical professionals.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a large and diverse group, establish clear expectations and inspire commitment, building teams, value diversity and put people first.

  • Experience furthering continuous yet controlled improvements in organizations and processes and strengthening of workforce skills through application of lean thinking principles and tools.

  • Experience formulating, documenting, planning, executing, and managing complex project plans and initiatives.

  • Prior experience with inspections and tests.

  • Prior experience working with union employees.

  • Experience working with Government agencies.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

  • Auditing experience (quality control processes preferable)

  • Experiencing managing teams performing GD&T.

  • Active Secret Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
