Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Sr. Principal Quality Analyst CMM PC-DMIS located in Sunnyvale, CA.

What you'll get to do:

Metrology Programming & Automation

  • Develop, validate, optimize, and maintain advanced PC-DMIS inspection programs for DCC CMM systems, Fixed-head CMM systems, Portable CMM systems, Hexagon Absolute Arms, Laser Tracker systems.

  • Design and implement automated inspection strategies that improve throughput, repeatability, and data integrity: Create reusable programming templates, reporting structures, and automation tools to reduce programming time and improve standardization. Develop offline programming methodologies utilizing CAD models and model-based definition (MBD) datasets. Support integration of inspection results into digital manufacturing and quality systems.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the site’s subject matter expert (SME) for: PC-DMIS, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), CMM programming, Laser Tracker measurement, Portable metrology systems, Measurement uncertainty analysis, Metrology system validation, and provide technical consultation to Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Tooling, and Mission Assurance organizations.

  • Lead root cause investigations involving dimensional nonconformances.

  • Support MRB activities through dimensional analysis and technical evaluations.

  • Participate in design reviews to ensure inspections and manufacturability.

Training & Workforce Development

  • Train personnel, establish qualification standards and certification criteria for metrology personnel, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Laser Tracker & Advanced Metrology

  • Support deployment and expansion of Hexagon Laser Tracker systems, Spatial Analyzer software, and Large-volume metrology applications.

  • Develop measurement plans for large assemblies, tooling alignment, shipboard structures, manufacturing fixtures, precision alignment activities, and evaluate and implement emerging metrology technologies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead initiatives focused on Inspection cycle-time reduction, Measurement system automation, First-pass yield improvements, Cost reduction, Digital transformation, and conduct MSA studies, Gage R&R studies, SPC analysis, Capability studies (Cp/Cpk/Ppk), and establish standard work and best practices for metrology operations.

Basic Qualifications for the Sr. Principal Quality Analyst CMM PC-DMIS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in programming and analyzing CMM PC-DMIS software in a Quality or Manufacturing environment: Master's Degree with a minimum of 6 years experience. Associate Degree with 10 years of experience; or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • CMM PC-DMIS programming experience.

  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) experience.

  • Experience with interpreting engineer drawings and models.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ABSOLUTE (ROMER) ARMS using PC-DMIS.

  • Active Secret Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
