Engineering Technician (Electrical/Mechanical Installs)

The Engineering Technician will be responsible for electrical assembly and installation on aircraft. This includes layouts, fabrication, and installing electrical wiring and coaxial cable on aircraft, vehicles or transportation equipment in accordance with drawings, technical manuals or other written instructions.

Essential Functions:

  • Performing electrical installations and mechanical installs on aircraft.
  • Coordination between different departments such as engineering and quality.
  • Leading small projects, working both as a team and individually.
  • Testing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and aircraft maintenance manuals.
  • Applying general industry standards on quality expectations.
  • General aircraft electrical systems knowledge and assembly principles and techniques.
  • Use of tools required to perform this job function.
  • Candidates will be cross trained in both Mechanical Assembly and Electrical Installs.
  • Obtain and maintain a certification to operate vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • This position will require some overtime work that could be any shift, and some weekends.
  • Willing and able to travel as required up to 20%.
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces onboard an aircraft.
  • Subject to FAA requirements and random substance abuse screenings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret with SCI Clearance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with six (6) years of aircraft electrical assembly and install experience.
  • 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with two (2) years of aircraft electrical assembly and install experience.
  • Other technical training and/or military courses will be considered.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Leadership experience.
