Senior Systems Integration Engineer

Job Summary:

This is an exciting role in an innovative, high-growth defense technology company. The Systems Engineer – I&T leads the integration and test of complex electro‑mechanical defense systems across the full development lifecycle. This role contributes to requirements definition at all levels, develops test plans, specifies test station hardware and software, and oversees the creation and transition of new test stations and procedures to manufacturing. The engineer analyzes test data, troubleshoots issues, and supports final system sell‑off prior to customer delivery. 

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop system tests, including identification of required hardware, software, and lab equipment 
  • Perform integration and testing activities, including RF Chamber testing and Field testing 
  • Work with subsystem teams to characterize and resolve integration / operational issues 
  • Work with lab equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, function generators, VNAs, RF signal generators, DAQs, etc.) to characterize hardware, including possibly writing software to automate measurements and data analysis 
  • Contribute to requirement development, monitoring for potential integration issues between subsystems 
  • Capture and promote Design-for-Test best practices 
  • Contribute to Qualification and Acceptance test planning 
  • Work side-by-side with test engineers and technicians to knowledge-transfer new test procedures and debug issues 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar field 
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience, preferably with experience spanning the entire product lifecycle (Concept to Delivery) OR minimum 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree 
  • Familiarity with Requirements and Verification Management tools, and Manufacturing Execution System tools 
  • Experienced in verification of system requirements 
  • Familiarity with electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, etc.) 
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required) 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (preferably Python and / or Matlab) 
  • Experience working with RF systems (e.g. radar, comms, EW, etc.), preferably including phased arrays 
  • Experience safely working with electrical power systems 
  • Experience troubleshooting embedded systems  
  • Familiarity with environmental requirements and verification (shock/vibe, humidity, temperature, sand / dust, etc.) 
  • Good written and oral communication skills; not afraid to speak up, either to ask for help or disagree on a technical point that warrants more discussion 
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization 
  • Eager to learn and to help others on the team 
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment 
  • Focused on rapidly delivering customer value

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. 
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$133,300—$159,800 USD
