Northrop Grumman is seeking Principal Admin Generalist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. 

This position will be located at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote opportunities are available.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly qualified candidate with outstanding technical and leadership skills to support the Tactical Propulsion Engineering Department at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in Rocket Center, WV.  The Principal Administration Generalist serves as the senior-most administrative professional within the Missile Products engineering organization, providing strategic oversight and hands‑on execution of all non‑specialized administration functions. This role ensures that operational processes run smoothly, supports senior leadership, and acts as a key liaison across departments to maintain efficiency, compliance, and a high‑performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Administration
    • Design, implement, and continuously improve core administrative policies and procedures.
    • Lead cross‑functional projects that streamline workflow, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
    • Prepare and present periodic administrative performance reports to senior leadership.
    • Administer daily Design/Test/Pre-Ship Scheduling for development and production hardware end-items
  • Office Management
    • Oversee facilities management, office supplies, and equipment lifecycle
    • Coordinate onboarding/off‑boarding logistics, including workspace allocation, badge/access provisioning, and orientation materials.
    • Ensure health, safety, and security protocols are current and adhered to.
  • Executive Support
    • Provide high‑level calendar, travel, and meeting management for the executive team, including Senior Director.
    • Draft correspondence, presentations, and reports with a focus on clarity and impact.
    • Anticipate executive needs and proactively resolve administrative obstacles.
  • Financial Administration
    • Manage departmental budgets, expense tracking, and invoicing processes.
    • Liaise with Finance for month‑end close, vendor payments, and cost‑control initiatives.
    • Conduct periodic audits of admin expenditures and recommend optimization measures.
  • Compliance & Records
    • Ensure all administrative practices comply with corporate governance, data‑privacy laws, and industry regulations.
    • Supervise record‑keeping, archiving, and document destruction schedules.
    • Conduct internal audits and support external audit requests.
    • Prepare/maintain records supporting AS9100 compliance

Basic Qualifications:

  • LEVEL 2: Bachelor’s degree in administration or a closely related field. 2+ years of administrative experience.
  • LEVEL 3: Bachelor’s degree in administration or a closely related field. 5+ years of administrative experience, with minimum 3 years in the defense industry
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of administrative experience, with minimum 5 years in the defense industry
  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or similar credential.
  • Experience in a fast‑growing, matrixed organization.
  • Active Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
