The Boeing Company’s Labor Relations organization is looking for a Senior Manager - Labor Relations, to join our dynamic team supporting key union other non-union Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) sites. This critical role will manage a team of Labor Relations Specialists in Southern California and Mesa, Arizona, serving as the primary labor contact for multiple collective bargaining agreements while driving positive employee relations initiatives at key BDS sites.

This position allows the selected candidate to be based out of one of the following: Mesa, AZ, El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Long Beach, CA or Los Angeles, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages Labor Relations Specialists designing, implementing and administering labor relations processes, including Positive Employee Relations, Work Environment Assessment models, grievance and contract administration, and Collective Bargaining

  • Provides senior leadership with recommendations, advice and counsel on Labor Relations policies, strategies and processes

  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, union leaders, and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations

  • Experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred but not required

  • Experience managing and successfully leading HR/Labor Relations strategy and process development and implementation across matrixes teams (and/or through geographically dispersed direct reports) in a large company

  • Strong builder of cross-functional relationships. Capable to connect and to advise at senior levels within the business, thoughtfully challenging leadership when necessary

  • Capability to design and implement innovations within a collaborative environment

  • Capability to attract, manage, and develop high performing teams. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $178,500 - $258,750
